ASP Sets New Record in CA Recall Election
With over 2/3rds of the votes announced for the California election to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom, we can report that ASP candidate Dr. James Hanink has pulled in over 5,000 votes, with many more to come as the rest of the precincts report in the coming weeks!
Let's put that in context - in 2020, the Carroll/Patel campaign (our most successful run ever) got 2,600 votes in California. In 2020, the total voter turnout was quite high at 70%.
Just a year later, we are on track to almost double our 2020 California vote total, despite an overall voter turnout of less than 40% (based on vote totals so far).
In other words - the American Solidarity Party is growing. And growing fast. This is an exciting time to be in the party, as Dr. Hanink makes clear in his statement:
"Thank you and more: mil gracias and a resounding “shout out” to all who supported my gubernatorial campaign as the candidate of the American Solidarity Party. I am deeply grateful to Desmond Silveira, Ed Frankovic, Skylar Covich, and Shane Ian Hoffman.
The American Solidarity Party is neither “left” nor “right,” neither “liberal” nor “conservative.” We are progressive in the best sense: we advocate for the common good and honor the principles of solidarity, subsidiarity, and economic democracy. We are pro-life for the whole of life.
During the recall election, Governor Gavin Newsom raised $70M. In the sharpest of contrasts, our campaign spent about $6K. But again, in the sharpest of contrasts, Newsom’s money fuels the “junk politics” of the duopoly. Our funds spread the word, to those waiting for grounded political thinking, that we are real and we are growing. In this election we garnered over 5,000 votes. And, yes, we’ll be back in 2022. Siempre adelante, con juicio!"
